The nominations for the 2024 Tonys were announced Tuesday morning on CBS and via livestream by Tony winners Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Take Me Out) and Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton).
Leading the pack is Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen, a semi-autobiographical musical, and David Adjmi‘s play Stereophonic, with each picking up 13 nominations, the most of any other productions this season.
Other notable nods include the whole gang of the revival of Merrily We Roll Along, with Daniel Radcliffe picking up his first Tony nomination. Australian producer Rodney Rigby has collected his fifth Tony nomination for the adaption of Water for Elephants. The West End transfer of Cabaret received nods for Best Revival of a Musical, as well as landing Eddie Redmayne a nod for Leading Actor in a Musical
Amongst the nominations are a heft of screen stars with the likes of Rachel McAdams (“Mary Jane”), Jessica Lange and Jim Parsons (“Mother Play”), and Liev Schreiber (“Doubt: A Parable”) each receiving a nod.
Not included? The recently opened The Great Gatsby musical starring Jeremy Jordan and Eva Nobelzada in the lead roles which only received a single nomination for costume design.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 16, at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater. Ariana DeBose, is set to return for a third year in a row.
